RAID & server recovery FAQ

Good to know

Two drives failed in my RAID 5 — is it over?
Not necessarily. Recovery depends on which drives failed, their condition, the array layout and any rebuild attempts. Keep the original drives in order and contact us before changing the array.
Should I try to rebuild the array myself?
We strongly advise against it. A failed or forced rebuild can overwrite the very data you are trying to recover. Power down and call us first.
Do you recover from NAS units like Synology or QNAP?
Yes. We handle NAS devices, servers, and RAID arrays of various levels and configurations.
Can you prioritize a business-critical recovery?
Tell us which files or services are business-critical. We will discuss current capacity and assessment timing before committing to a schedule.

Before you book

Planning your raid & nas data recovery request

What to prepare

Record the array configuration and drive order. Stop rebuilds or initialization attempts, label drives and explain which disks or alerts changed before the failure.

What to expect

Recovery planning depends on array layout, disk health, encryption and previous rebuild attempts. Keep all original members together and identify any existing backups.
